FINE ART LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY FOR SALE
Thank you for your interest in my landscape photography. Below is all the information you will need to make a decision on size and format for the gallery quality fine art prints offered on this site. To select and order your limited fine art print, please visit the portfolio section.
LIMITED EDITION ACRYLIC AND PAPER PRINTS
Every order is custom and individually prepared for a truly custom print. I work directly with you when selecting the best options for your photograph choice. To make your purchase smooth and easy as possible, I offer the UV protected Acrylic prints “ready-to-hang” with an inset backing frame so the image "floats” about an inch off the wall. The photograph is printed on a superior quality pearlescent metallic paper for that 3-D look. I also offer a Luster surface print in select sizes for those who want a traditional photo to frame themselves.
There are many surface options available, but I primarily recommend the following (more detailed descriptions of surfaces below price grid):
Luster Paper (look and feel of traditional photo print)
I do not produce my images on canvas. I find this “trend” to be less than satisfactory for my prints. It is fairly dull and due to the surface texture, the images do not have acceptable sharpness or detail.
ACRYLIC FACEMOUNT
What makes Acrylic mounted prints so special? The acrylic panels do something amazing with light. They channel the light rays in a way that glass doesn’t. This helps make the colors pop with an almost luminescent glow and also gives the image a 3D look that sets it apart from all other formats. It is visually striking and is also a wonderful modern way of presenting photographic art.
I personally prepare and print the photographs on a premium quality metallic pearlescent paper using a state-of-the-art Epson archival 24” printer for the best color fidelity and lasting qualities. I face-mount the prints to the UV filtering acrylic and encapsulate the image with a closed-cell PVC board for protection and stability. The final image has a hidden frame behind to allow the print to “float” off the wall. Acrylic prints arrive ready to hang. If you plan to frame your acrylic print, it can be ordered without hanging frame.
There are five parts to an acrylic print (plus the backing float frame) - The UV Acrylic, an archival optically clear polyester and acrylic adhesive film, the metallic photographic paper, permanent acrylic backing film, and rigid PVC backing panel
LUSTER AND FINE ART PAPER
The Luster paper looks like a traditional photo print with a pearl like surface. The colors are beautiful and bold. An unframed print is the most economical option, but you will need to frame it to display. With the Luster paper, for larger sizes I recommend dry mounting it to a sturdy PVC or Dibond substrate to be sure it is flat and protected and eliminates unwanted reflection.
From time to time I will print selected images on a fine art Baryta paper or fine art matte for framing. The Baryta Fine Art paper is extra thick and sturdy and archival. This is a beautiful semi gloss paper with a slight texture to the surface. Baryta is very striking and is a fantastic paper for black and white prints. The matte paper is a true museum grade archival paper with no whitening chemicals. Due to the matte surface, photographs take on a slightly painterly tone. Certain images lend themselves to this paper. Check for the Special Prints notice periodically for these images.
CUSTOM LIMITED EDITIONS AND OPEN EDITIONS
Every order is customized specifically for you. Exact dimensions may vary slightly from posted sizes. The variance is typically 1/8” to 1/4” due to cutting tolerances. If you need the exact dimensions to the 1/'16” please contact me for precise measurements.
Please visit the Portfolio and select the option or click on Custom Quote button for the photograph you are interested in.
Limited and Open Editions
Limited Edition - Limited editions range from 100 to 150 prints. As the photograph reaches higher numbers in the edition, prices will increase. Once the edition is exhausted, there will be no more standard edition prints made. Limited editions begin at sizes or 16” on short side and larger.
Limited edition prints will include a numbered and signed Certificate of Authenticity along with a matching serial number permanently affixed en verso. The back of the print is also signed and dated.
Open Edition - Smaller size (12”x18”, 12”x24” & 12”x30”) prints are always open edition. They are smaller and more economical options of the for small spaces. Although there is a digital signature on the print, they are not numbered or hand signed on the back. There is no certificate of authenticity with open editions. I will periodically make available select open edition prints at larger sizes, open edition versions. Open edition means there is no limit to the number of prints that can be produced.
Artist Proof - I may release up to two Artist Proofs of an image. They are acrylic mounted and are typically (but not exclusively) 24” x 36”, 20” x 48”, or 24” x 48” depending on the dimensions. They are signed and numbered AP 1 of 2 or AP 2 of 2. The Artist Proofs come with a special Certificate of Authenticity and a artist description of the photograph from shoot to editing thoughts.
First Print - For most of the limited editions prints, I hold onto the first print of the series. These are always acrylic mounted and are typically (but not exclusively) 24” x 36”, 20” x 48”, or 24” x 48” depending on the dimensions. On occasion as a series begins to sell out, I will make some of these available for purchase. Designated First Prints will be labeled FP 1/100 or FP 1/150 based on the number of prints in the edition. Pricing for First Print is currently $1000 over the standard price for the matching size print.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Printing Process - Currently all printing and acrylic mounting is done by me in my facility. I am not farming out my work to random photo labs with inconsistent quality. These photographs are a labor-of-love and I am proud to do all the work from photographing to editing to printing and mounting. Every print is personalized.
Under rare and specific circumstances, I may work with a prime quality lab for very large installations.
Print Formats - There are many surface options available, but I primarily work with and recommend UV protected Acrylic face mounting and Luster Paper if you wish to traditional frame it yourself.
Along with these print materials, I do produce prints on Fine Art Baryta and archival matte natural 100% cotton rag fiber paper. The Baryta paper is a striking and bold museum grade paper, and the cotton rag fiber paper gives a painterly feel with much more subtle tones.
For special orders on Baryta or cotton rag, please contact me to discuss and to receive a quote.
