Just south of Lake Louise is a spot along the road to Banff that looks out over the lonely train tracks as they wind
through the valley forest. Morant’s Curve is one of the most famous places in the region to photograph. As we headed back to the town of Banff following a pre-dawn excursion to Lake Moraine, we stopped at this overlook. Was is going to be the “same old shot” of the valley with harsh sunlight shining down from a cloudless sky, or would I get lucky? There was no train, but even without the passing Canadian Pacific Railway cargo train, I think I was lucky that day…
