True Bliss
True Bliss - Benton, PA
Standing at the edge of this basin looking across at such a beautiful waterfall was truly transformative. As I walked up to this point from the path along the edge of the river I knew I was seeing something special. This was no ordinary waterfall setting. The basin was almost perfectly round and was immense. The walls were covered in moss and were dripping streams of water from another waterfall nearly hidden by the foliage. It was quite tropical in appearance - only missing a few palm trees.
I sat on the rock on the lower right of the frame and ate my lunch as I listened to the echoing sounds of the rushing water. I was in my bliss.
This was one of a number of amazing sights this particular day. I was fortunate to run into another photographer who made the trek to this wilderness. We hiked and photographed together for the better part of the day, shared stories, and I believe came away with similar impressions of this magical location.
