Athabasca Falls
Athabasca Falls is one of many beautiful waterfalls in Jasper National Park. This is a Class 5 waterfall with a total drop of 80 ft and a 60 ft width. More than for it’s height, Athabasca is know for the sheer volume of water that flows over it. I visited in September, so the flow was at its lowest and it was still an awesome presence. Uncommonly, you stand near level with the top of the falls and look down into the quartzite and limestone crevasse. The sound and the rush of the bright teal glacier water left me transfixed. I loved it!
